Italian Leather

Renowned for producing the world’s finest leathers, Italy’s leather industry dates back to the 12th century and the first leather guilds! Much has changed (it was all vegetable tanning back then) but the tradition lives on. Visit Tuscany and the Florence leather district to find exquisite leather goods showcased on the runways of Paris. If it is fine upholstery leather you seek, head northwest to the Veneto region, home to Venice and the small town of Arzignano. Here you will find tanneries that have been family-owned for generations (including our tannery partners), that marry age-old traditions with modern technology to produce stunning upholstery leathers that range from vintage to “on-trend.”

  • Restoration Italia

    The Restorations evoke a time when leather finishing was done by the hands of master craftsmen. This full aniline dyed leather has a deep and rich patina (color). Because aniline dyes are absorbed differently across the hide, the color has "depth" as slight variations in tones create a stunning, timeless look.

  • Restoration Distress

    For our Restoration Distress version, we took our stunning Restorations and milled them in a large wooden drum. The milling releases some of the oil and waxes in the leather creating a burst of lighter tones across the hide. This "pull up" or distress effect is often associated with a classic vintage look but is also commonly used in modern pieces.

  • Euro Smooth

    Finished in Italy, Euro Smooth is a leader in style and performance. This silky-smooth nappa leather presents a fresh, distinctive color palette being widely used in premium home furnishing and luxury automobiles. Create something distinctive with this ultra-lux Italian leather!

  • Italia Nubuck
