Pigmented Leather

While not always getting the attention it deserves, pigmented leather dominates the upholstery market for its mix of color, soft feel, and durability. Produced in a rainbow of colors pigmented leather has a layer of colorants sprayed onto the hide giving it a rich, saturated look that dyes alone cannot achieve. Pigmented leather does not patina with use like dyed leather but will remain true in color. This results from the pigments not penetrating the leather (like dyes) but instead tightly bonding to the hide's surface. A protective topcoat is always added for additional durability.
